Fresher's Fayre

Following weeks of hard work by Harry Cole, Fresher's Fayre packs are nearly ready to go, and nearly all the addresses to post them to have been obtained.

This Saturday (1st September) we will be packing boxes to make sure that they are all sent out, to the right people, with the right number of items, and we would be grateful for any help.

If you have a couple of hours to spare on Saturday, around lunchtime / the afternoon, then please drop Harry an e-mail: harry.cole@conservatives.com, or e-mail me on clairepalmer@conservativefuture.com.

If you are yet to contact Harry, or hear from him, but would like a Fresher's Fayre packs for your university or FE college, then please do so ASAP.

Meeting Area Chairman

Last night I met up with Bristol and Gloucestershire AC, Nick Webb, who was in London for a few days. We caught up for a drink. and invariably talk turned to CF matters, amongst other topics.

Nick is a brilliant Area Chairman and has worked incredibly hard this year, growing CF branches in his area, and becoming fully involved at all levels of the Party. This has made sure that CF is respected in the local area, and there is excellent communication between the Senior Party and CF.

Setting Up CF Branches

Tody I spent about an hour on the phone to Derbyshire CFer, Neelam Cartmell, who is keen to continue developing the CF branch there. Her and Helen Walker are doing a fantastic job, and have already made significant progress, using Facebook, Bluechip and existing Conservatives in office in the area to identify potential members.

We discussed ways to grow the CF branch, as well as what has worked elsewhere, and what hasn't! For anyone based there, do get in touch with Neelam via Facebook, or drop me an e-mail and I'll pass you her details. They have a bowling event this Sunday at Derby Megabowl from 4pm to 8pm.

I regularly deal with such calls from keen CFers wanting to either set up or grow CF branches, which enables me to give tailored advice to particular areas, and individuals, and help them with the areas they are struggling with. I also get to gain tips of what has worked for them!

Consequently I am pulling together a document to be available for those who are setting up CF branches with do's and don't's, tips and hints. For those of you with experience of setting up CF branches, please do e-mail me with your comments and contributions.

Fresher's Fayre

Fresher's Fayre packs are now being produced, and details collected and finalised for who to send them too.

Hopefully if you have a CF branch at your university, they will have been contacted, but it is just possible we don't have your e-mail address correct, or you might be checking a different one over the summer, and might want your Fresher's packs sent somewhere else.

So the upshot is, if you want to make sure you've got Fresher's packs, packed full of Boris goodies, e-mail harry.cole@conservatives.com, who will add you onto the list, and make sure he knows where you want it sent, and how many you want.

Harry has been doing a stirling job in CCHQ over the last few weeks, and we even had a favourable piece in the Guardian, about him!
