Backing Bow Police

Labour’s Justice Secretary, Jack Straw, started the year attacking our police
officers and claiming that the Police are moaning when they complain of too
much paperwork! That is not what residents tell me – they want to see police
patrolling the streets and not stuck in an office filling in forms.

Meanwhile Bow Conservatives continue with their campaign calling for a cut
in paperwork to enable police to get out on the streets and get on with their
jobs.

I chair the Bow East Safer Neighbourhood Team Ward Panel, and see first hand what they have to face. Bow police do a fantastic job, but face bureaucracy and
targets that stop them from getting out on the streets. I support the
Conservative pledge to cut police paperwork, and help get police out on the
streets to keep us safe.
